VISUAL INSPECTION (VT)

VISUAL TESTING (VT) can be the first method of inspection by our certified NDT technicians according to ISO 9712  to detect defects and observe problems in the earliest stages of fabrication.

The test method according to ISO 17637, ISO 5817, ISO 10042 is applied to almost every product as a quality assurance tool. The most detrimental unacceptable discontinuities in the objects are the surface discontinuities.

Visual testing presents several real advantages: simplicity, rapidity, low cost and the ability to be performed while the specimen is being used or processed.

Visual Testing (VT) or Visual Inspection requires line-of-sight contact with the portion of the specimen to be inspected, adequate illumination of the test specimen, a thorough understanding of the nature and origin of discontinuities and potential defects within the test object.
